With the vast adoption of cloud based infrastructures and also dynamic hardware provisioning, being a must in the cloud era, being familiar with technologies that allow you to abstract the hardware resources from the work payloads you want to run on your data center. The last 5 years have changed dramatically how companies envision their infrastructure landscape. Due to budget issue, companies are trying actively to lower down the costs of running in house infrastructure. In the past static partitioned clusters where dedicated servers where provisioned for running specific workloads, proven to be error prone and also increasing massively the cost of the infrastructure. We will present Apache Mesos, Apache Mesos abstracts CPU, memory, storage, and other compute resources away from machines (physical or virtual), enabling fault-tolerant and elastic distributed systems to easily be built and run effectively.
